Hey! I’m Susie, the one behind the camera.
My journey into photography began in my teenage years, capturing black and white film and developing it in my makeshift darkroom. Today, I primarily shoot digital, but my goal is always for my photos to have that film feeling. Based in Portland, Oregon, I specialize in intimate weddings, elopements, newborns, families, and folks who consider themselves camera-shy.
When it comes to photography, I’m always seeking out those subtle, fleeting, in-between moments. I live for capturing the little things we all take for granted: a stolen kiss, a bout of nervous giggles before heading down the aisle, an extra set of hands helping with that dang bustle. I believe that it’s these candid photos that hold the most emotional weight. They capture the true essence of the day, preserving how it felt rather than just how it looked.
Susie captured all of the emotion of the day in such a special way that it's hard to even explain. I keep saying "wait! how was she there, at that moment, taking that photo??" She absolutely killed it and was such a gem to work with.
